Westfield/Cranford/Nutley/Fanwood, N.J. – The Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter will be “hitting the streets” of Union and Essex counties this summer to educate local residents about Alzheimer’s as well as the resources that are available to those with – and those caring for someone with – Alzheimer’s or dementia. Chapter representatives also will be hosting a registration drive for its Essex-Hudson-Union Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, to be held Saturday, September 23rd at its new venue, historic and scenic Weequahic Park in Newark.

Look for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey’s outreach team at the following community gatherings:

  • Saturday, August 19: Westfield Street Fair & Craft Show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Downtown Westfield near the intersection of Elm and East Broad Streets, Westfield, N.J. More than 200 artists, crafters and vendors will be in attendance. Admission and parking are free.
  • Sunday, August 20: Cranford Street Fair & Craft Show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Downtown Cranford on North Avenue East near the intersection of Alden Street, Cranford, N.J. More than 200 artists, crafters and vendors will be in attendance. Admission and parking are free.
  • Sunday, September 3: Nutley Street Fair & Craft Show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Downtown Cranford on North Avenue East near the intersection of William Street and North Franklin Avenue, Nutley, N.J. More than 200 artists, crafters and vendors will be in attendance. Information about the Bergen-Passaic Walk to End Alzheimer’s also will be available. Admission and parking are free.
  • Sunday, September 17: Fanwood Day Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is so much more than a street fair. In addition to food and craft vendors, the 22nd annual event will host an array of activities that include a petting zoo, pony rides, a climbing wall and kiddie rides as well as hot dog and stuffed-pretzel-eating contests, a bubble-gum-blowing contest and hula-hoop contest. The event will be held near 230 South Avenue, close to the intersection of Second Avenue, in Fanwood, N.J.
