Livingston, N.J. – For some, changing careers may be trying at best. Thanks to innate zeal and extreme drive, Gebroe-Hammer Associates’ Adam Zweibel has made it look all too easy. After a highly successful 10-year run in the information technology industry, the Livingston, N.J. resident altered his professional path by joining Gebroe-Hammer’s broker-trainee program four years ago, was named a vice president three years later and has now earned the firm’s top honor for 2017: Salesperson of the Year.
“Words like ‘no’ and ‘can’t’ simply are not part of Adam’s vocabulary. While some people get deflated at hearing these terms, he goes full throttle to achieve the ‘yes’ and the ‘can,’ and the results speak for themselves,” said Ken Uranowitz, president. “Adam’s unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and intuitive analytical and problem-solving skills have led to his exponential year-over-year sales increases throughout Central and South Jersey and beyond. These aren’t just personal and firm bests, they are investment brokerage industry ‘bests’ as well.”
Named in memory of the firm’s late founders, Mel Gebroe and Morris Hammer, the annual peer-selected Salesperson of the Year award recognizes one brokerage professional for exceptional, consistent sales performance.
Since joining the firm, Zweibel has completed more than 40 deals for a combined total of over 5,057 multi-family units sold for $556.709M. In 2016, he was named to Gebroe-Hammer’s executive management team as a vice president, after just three years in the business. Prior to Gebroe-Hammer, the University of Michigan graduate served as president of Alpha Technology Group, a company he successfully built, restructured and eventually sold to Strategic Micro Systems.
As the result of his unyielding drive, Zweibel has been instrumental in dramatically expanding Gebroe-Hammer’s presence and transaction volume throughout Central and South Jersey, where he has emerged as the multi-family broker of choice. He also represents client interests throughout the Greater New Jersey metro and beyond.
Zweibel was named the Gebroe-Hammer’s newest honoree for tripling his 2017 sales benchmarks over 2016 and closing several prominent eight-digit sales. These included Waterside Villas in Monroe Township ($19.2M/99 units); Carriage Club Apartments in Mt. Arlington ($24M/105 units); Orchard Drive Apartments in Whitehall, PA ($18.5M/264 units); Olympic Gardens in Brick ($10M/94 units); Crest Ridge Apartments in West Orange ($45M/178 units); and an off-campus college housing complex in Central New Jersey ($19.7M/63 units).
In addition to representing private individual owners, who dominate the New Jersey multi-family landscape, Zweibel’s diverse client base includes REITs, private equity firms and institutional investment entities.
Since 1975, Gebroe-Hammer’s brokerage activities have concentrated on suburban and urban high-rise and garden-apartment properties. While initially focusing on New Jersey, the firm has evolved during the past 43 years to also dominate the northeastern Pennsylvania and New York State submarkets as well as represent client interests nationally. Gebroe-Hammer also markets mixed-use and free-standing office and retail properties. Widely recognized for its consistent sales performance, the firm is a 14-time CoStar Power Broker.
