Livingston, N.J. – Since kindness is the highest form of intelligence, Gebroe-Hammer Associates’ Gehane Triarsi embodies what it takes to succeed in today’s multi-family brokerage profession. Widely acknowledged for her benevolence and brains, the Union County resident and market specialist has added two new milestones to her achievements – being named the firm’s 2016 Salesperson of the Year as well as being promoted to vice president.
Named in memory of the firm’s late founders, Mel Gebroe and Morris Hammer, the annual peer-selected Salesperson of the Year award recognizes one brokerage professional for exceptional, consistent sales performance.
“Gehane has an ingratiating manner backed by superior knowledge of her market and the multi-family industry as a whole, both of which open a lot of doors – literally,” said Ken Uranowitz, president, who announced the honor at the firm’s 41st Anniversary reception. “A genuine pleasure to work with, even on the most challenging transactions, she is a reckoning force because she is someone who gets the deal done, no matter what.”
Triarsi has a hard-earned palpable presence in the multi-family investment brokerage field – an industry she pursued following a successful, yet unrewarding career in television production. Since joining Gebroe-Hammer Associates five years ago, she has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s presence throughout Union County by closing some of the transit-rich submarket’s most high-profile transactions. Rising through the ranks from trainee to sales representative and market specialist, Triarsi represents a wide range of first time and long-term clients in some of the most prominent market and off-market transactions throughout her territory. In addition, she works with clients whose interests extend beyond Central Jersey.
Recent sales highlights include kicking off and closing out the year as a member of the brokerage teams involved in two separate New Providence, NJ transactions – the $47 million sale of 172 units at Murray Hill Apartments and $55 million sale of 232 units at New Providence Gardens. In addition, Triarsi was part of the Gebroe-Hammer teams arranging the $29.33 million sale of Meridia at Water’s Edge and $7.35 million sale of 58 nearby units on Hamilton Street, both in Rahway. In the City of Plainfield, she also closed four separate sales involving a total of 185 units sold for a combined $18.7 million.
“I always felt like my interest in analytics and architecture were pulling me toward a brokerage career,” said Triarsi. “After five years with a large national brokerage firm, I joined Gebroe-Hammer Associates to learn from the best in the business in the firm’s industry-unique training program. In my first four months with Gebroe-Hammer, I closed $11 million in deals that served as a springboard for my long-term success. Like they say, if you can’t beat them, join them. That’s what I did and I haven’t looked back since.”
Gebroe-Hammer Associates specializes in suburban and urban high-rise, mid-rise and garden-apartment properties throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia. Widely recognized for its consistent sales performance, Gebroe-Hammer is a 13-time CoStar Power Broker.
