Marlboro, N.J. – Jason Pierson, founder and president of Pierson Commercial Real Estate, has been named a 2024 Retail Influencer among nationwide professionals within this sector. The 19-year industry veteran’s achievements are highlighted in the current issue of Real Estate Forum / GlobeSt.com, a leading national commercial real estate publication.
To be considered for the Retail Influencers “Class of 2024,” nominees are chosen as an impactful, accomplished leader. Each must stand out among their counterparts; demonstrate leadership – particularly in recent uncertain times – as well as significant accomplishments over the past 12 months; and be active in business, career-oriented, .charitable and/or civic-minded organizations.
In addition to the retail brokerage field, individuals are selected across a number of disciplines in commercial real estate. Here is what the publication had to say about the Class of 2024 Retail Influencers:
“Retail has been an interesting space for the commercial real estate sector. In recent months consumers have shown signs of slowing purchasing in response to higher prices. At the same time, the fundamentals in the space have never been stronger for owners and landlords, amid a scarcity of space and strong demand. Navigating these dynamics are the following men and women who we have selected as this year’s leaders in the industry.”
After launching his career with CBRE and rising through the ranks as a retail services broker-of-choice within the New York/New Jersey markets, Pierson established Pierson Commercial in 2011. His vision was two-fold: to create a retail-focused brokerage firm with the sophisticated resources of a large corporation while encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset with the efficiency of a boutique firm.
“I wanted to build something with a team of top professionals who subscribe to and advance work practices that align with my personal and professional philosophy grounded in an ethical, hardworking and client-first culture,” he explained.
Tapping into its founder’s reputation as a trusted real estate advisor and a client base of Fortune-500 retailers, REITs, private equity firms and institutional property holders, Pierson Commercial has emerged as a New Jersey-centric commercial real estate brokerage and advisory powerhouse focused on retail assets.
In total, Pierson Commercial’s retail leasing and property marketing assignments span over 70 listings and 6 MSF of retail space across major downtown redevelopments, new construction and existing retail shopping centers. Some of the firm’s most recent key assignment highlights include:
- Spearheading the tenant repositioning effort at Central New Jersey’s rebranded Hazlet Town Center (Client: Onyx Equities LLC and Siguler Guff & Co.)

He specializes in every asset class, from underperforming retail spaces in need of re-tenanting to new-construction centers, all of which span one of the Northeast’s most in-demand metros and submarkets.
A strong retail industry advocate, Pierson is active in several professional industry organizations. In addition to being a licensed real estate broker in the State of New Jersey and a licensed salesperson in the State of New York, he is the New Jersey ICSC government relations co-chair, a former advisory board member for the Rutgers University Center for Real Estate, an advisory board member and guest lecturer at Monmouth University’s Kislak Real Estate Institute and a supporter of PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) and Chaim Medical Resource.
