WHIPPANY, N.J. – WithumSmith+Brown PC (Withum) recently kicked off its 10th Annual March Madness event to coincide with the NCAA’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. Filled with comebacks, buzzer beaters and thrills, the Final Four teams have set their sights on the finals while the top-ranked advisory, accounting and tax firm’s team is focusing on their run up to April 15th, Tax Day.

In addition to hosting a March Madness kick-off reception for more than 100 attendees at the Whippany office, Withum guests were randomly assigned teams in the tournament and prizes are awarded to those whose teams advance to the Elite 8 and beyond.

“Overall, accounting is an excellent profession for work/life balance but extended hours are the norm during ‘busy season’ – January to March for auditors and well into April for those in our tax practice,” explained Kirk Holderbam, partner in charge of Withum’s Whippany office. “As a firm, we not only work hard, but we play hard too. This includes morale boosters like our March Madness event, which allows our team members to follow the tournament and engage in some friendly competition while also serving their clients’ heightened needs during this time of year.”

Established in 1974, Withum is a national top-ranking public accounting firm providing advisory, tax and audit services to businesses and individuals on a local-to-global scale. Headquartered in Princeton, NJ, additional offices are located in major financial centers including New York City, NY; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC.; and Orlando, FL. Withum is an independent member of HLB, the global advisory and accounting network.
